Children’s Choir Rehearsals Begin January 22 – Join Us!
All children are invited to join us beginning Sunday, January 22nd after church from 10:45 am – 12 noon in the Youth Chapel for the beginning of our Bay Shore Children’s Choir spring season. Your child will have fun and feel a sense of accomplishment preparing songs and singing them in not only our worship services, but in our fully staged and costumed spring musical.
On Sunday, May 21st our children’s choir will present It’s Cool in the Furnace: The Story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Bible stories are timeless, and the tale of Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego and the fiery furnace is about as “cool” as it gets. Our musical recounts this captivating Biblical tale with humor, action, a spiritual heart and speaking and singing parts for everyone!
We welcome to our choir all those ages 1st through 8th grade who have participated with us before, and all who would like to try us for the first time. Do you have a son or daughter who is just now old enough to participate? How about a son or daughter who has never chosen to sing with us before? Do your children have any friends from school that they would like to invite to participate? Encourage them to come to our first rehearsal and try us out! We have so much fun singing together, learning our speaking parts, learning our staging and choreography, wearing our costumes, and putting on a musical! And the children learn some lifelong lessons from the stories we portray. The congregation has seen what a profound message the children can bring to the worship service, and the more children we have, the better we can be!
