Children’s Musical: Oh, Jonah!

Children’s Musical: Oh, Jonah!

May 19th – Oh, Jonah!

Join us on Sunday morning when the children of our church will present their fully staged and costumed annual Spring musical.  This year they will offer their rendition of Oh, Jonah!  As you will recall from your Sunday school days, Jonah was called by God to be a prophet and preach to the people of Ninevah.  But Jonah was reluctant so he tried to run away from God and instead take a sea voyage.  But there was a terrible storm.  Jonah knew that God had caused the storm, so he asked the sailors to throw him into the sea.  But Jonah did not drown, because God sent a whale (large fish) to swallow Jonah.  Then, Jonah prayed and agreed to do what God asked.  And God caused the fish to return Jonah to the dry land so he could take responsibility and do what was asked of him.  Join us as we’ll experience the children through word and song teaching us about responsibility, repentance, listening to the word of God in our lives, accepting people who are different from us and that there is mercy and compassion for all who turn to God.  Come and enjoy the culmination of many months of work by the children and choir assistants and don’t miss this whale of a tale!
