A “Once in a Lifetime” Opportunity
for Angelo Filemon Atendido-Santos!
Bay Shore Church’s own Angelo Filemon Atendido-Santos is one of five youth musicians with the Musique Sur La Mer Orchestra in Long Beach who has been invited to perform in a charity benefit concert on May 5 at the gorgeous St. John Smith Square Church, behind Westminster Abbey, the night before the double coronation of HRH King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla. All proceeds of the concert will go to a local charity chosen by the king. This is truly a “once in a lifetime” opportunity for Angelo. It’s a wonderful opportunity for Bay Shore Church and the community to make it possible for Angelo to participate in this life-expanding experience by making donations to defray the cost of this trip. (As a youth musician, Angelo is required to pay all expenses for this trip.)
For those of you not personally familiar with Angelo, he is 14 years old and a freshman at Poly High School (PACE) in Long Beach. He has been playing the violin since the third grade and is an extraordinary violinist. He is a member of the Poly High School Symphony Orchestra, selected as concertmaster for their concert last month. He is also a member of the Long Beach Unified All-District Orchestra, the only freshman student. He performs in both the symphony and the chamber orchestra of Musique Sur La Mer and is also a member of the North Torrance Youth Musicians Ensemble. As a member of our church, he performs on his violin, and participates in the Chancel Choir, children’s choir, and bell choir. And, as if this is not enough, he is a member of the Long Beach Youth Chorus.
In Angelo’s own words, “I give all the Glory to God for the wisdom and talent that I am able to share with others. I’m so grateful, blessed, and thankful that the Lord continues to shower me with his blessings, kindness, love, protection, patience, perseverance and most of all, the inspiration to keep on playing the violin in His name!”
