Our youth group for 6th through 12th graders gathers for meals, games, activities, discussions, and service opportunities. Sometimes we go offsite for our activities and we schedule periodic special events such as all-night lock-ins. New middle school and high school youth are always welcome to join us! We have a lot of fun as we grow together in faith! We also offer the youth opportunities to offer their creative talents including drama, dance, music, and visual arts in worship. For specific dates and details on upcoming events, please visit the Calendar of Events. If you have questions about youth group, please contact Rev. Susie.
Every Sunday, our children and youth in preschool through the sixth grade gather in their classrooms for Sunday School classes after the younger children go up to the chancel steps for Children’s Time in worship. During the school year we offer a youth Sunday school class for middle school students. Senior high students are encouraged to remain in the worship service. Rev. Susie would be happy to answer any questions you have.
Youth help with worship and assist in the production of dramas for our younger children.
Senior high youth are invited to participate in confirmation classes which are led by the pastors and designed to go deeper into exploring what it means to become a committed follower of Jesus. It’s a time of honest and open inquiry and exploring the possibilities of what a faith journey is all about.
The church awards the Glen Moeller Scholarship to first-year college students. Scholarships and tuition consideration is given to member students at UCC related universities. The Disciples on Campus at Chapman University is an excellent example.
Pilgrim Pines Camp
Many of our children and youth go to Pilgrim Pines Camp in the summer. Located in the San Bernardino Mountains and operated by our own Southern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ, Pilgrim Pines offers fun and faith-filled camp experiences for children and youth in first grade through high school. You can often find members of our church up there serving as a counselor for a week too!
Safe Church & Release Form
All volunteers and employees who work with our children and youth have been background checked in compliance with our safe church policy. All youth who attend Sunday school and/or youth group gatherings must also have a release form on file with the church. You can print our release form HERE, fill it out, and bring it with you to church. Thank you! We hope your youth can join us for an event soon!
